Om Yadav Clinches Double Titles at 23rd Eldeco Cup Prize Money Tennis Tournament

Lucknow: Om Yadav delivered a commanding performance to emerge as the standout player of the 23rd Eldeco Cup Prize Money Tennis Tournament, clinching double titles by winning both the men’s singles and men’s doubles championships.

The ₹1 lakh prize money tournament was organised by the SDS Tennis Academy at the La Martiniere Lawn Tennis Facility, La Martiniere College. In the men’s singles final, Om Yadav was declared champion after his opponent Aniruddh was forced to retire due to a shoulder strain. At the time of retirement, Om was firmly in control of the match, leading 5–0.

Om continued his winning momentum in the men’s doubles final, where he partnered Varun to secure the title. The duo defeated the pair of Anuj and Aniruddh 8–3 in a one-sided contest. Aniruddh returned to action in the doubles final after recovering from his earlier discomfort but could not prevent Om and Varun from lifting the trophy.

In the junior categories, Avyaan Jain claimed the boys’ under-10 singles title with a convincing 4–1 victory over Kiyan Mulchandani in the final. In the boys’ under-12 singles final, Ayan Pandey emerged champion after edging past Naitvik Singh in a closely contested tie-break, winning 7–5 (4–3).

The girls’ under-12 title was won by Anya Chaudhary, who defeated Advita Abhi Kumar 4–2 in the final to secure the championship.

The tournament will conclude with the prize distribution ceremony scheduled for Monday at 4 pm. Former Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police Javeed Ahmed will grace the occasion as the chief guest, while Dr Irshad Ali will be present as the guest of honour.
